Insight Executive

Insight Executive, founded in 2015, is a London-based executive search, selection and interim management business, established on the cultivation of genuine relationships, engaging the people organisations need to deliver and grow, sustainably.

Challenge

Insight Executive was growing their own business based on empowering principals; giving staff freedom, trust and the tools to deliver.  However, despite the positive, supportive and balanced working environment, the biggest challenge Insight faced was unsuccessful hires, resulting in increased costs and lost revenue. People interviewed, on paper, were not reflective of the individual who started on desk on day one. In a period of growth, hiring the right people was instrumental to Insight’s success.

What was later evident was that there were gaps in the interview process, to flag the misalignment of individuals values and cultural fit – avoiding mis-hires up front.

After working with numerous Rec2Rec agencies which resulted in further unsuccessful hires, Insight decided that a different approach was required, retaining the services of GSR2R in the summer of 2019.

GSR2R’s impact was immediate. Following an initial meeting to understand the challenges faced by Insight, Cheryl got to work to create a robust strategy to overcome these challenges.

Her approach was two-fold:

  1. Educate the leadership team to create an internal hiring strategy to flag incompatible hires early on
  2. Address the immediate need for experienced recruitment professionals

Cheryl led virtual interview masterclasses with the leadership team, dissecting the existing interview process to identify the gaps and how to plug them efficiently. A plan was developed that could be scaled in line with business growth, whilst maintaining its effectiveness. Implementing value-based interview techniques was a key win for Insight Executive and continues to be pivotal to their hiring process.

The interview and high-performers masterclass protected Insight from future mis-hires, accelerating time-to-hire of the right people, and reducing long-term hiring expenditure. Additionally, the rigorous methodologies were utilised to measure compatibility of the company’s talent pipeline, successfully highlighting the best candidates to proceed to interview.
