Who you hire directly affects reputation profit and growth – part 1

By GSR2R Admin | 6th February 2023

With a lack of choice when hiring recruiters, leadership teams are making quick decisions based on a feeling, which is costing businesses more than money.

And this means that who you hire directly affects reputation profit and growth.

“Ineffective hiring costs organisations 3 times the employee’s first-year earnings.”

Have you felt the effects of a bad hire?

People are hiring people due to a character they see at interview, rather than testing past skills and drivers to do the role on offer.

Ask yourself:

  1. When did you last decide as a leadership team what your interviewing strategy is?
  2. What does a good hire look like?
  3. What does a super-star hire look like?
  4. Whoever is in the interview process do you all agree on what the skills are needed to do the role you are recruiting for?
  5. Are you settling just to meet hiring targets?

I hear this story constantly. At interview you meet a game-changer. Someone who is going to make an impact. Everything you offer is their perfect role! It’s so perfect you can’t wait for them to start.

A year later you have an average, at best, performer that has taken more of your time than you anticipated and generated little income, leaving you scratching your head, wondering why the recruiters you were so keen to hire at interview, turn out to be a seismic disappointment.

These are problems that I can solve with my Interview Masterclass.

Put an end to the cycle

In my next blog, I will address how my interview masterclass overcomes these challenges. The focus will be on creating an interview process based on evidence and fact – not feeling.

There are lots of ways to climb a hill, but you need to ensure your potential hire wants to climb that hill and be on the journey with you.

Keep an eye out for part 2, coming soon.
